Multiple adjustments to course grading and hazard positioning aid in making Hole 12 a more fresh and interesting experience – avoiding the updated left fairway bunkers with a hard drive right is tempting, but players who elect to take this route will find they’ll have to clear the lake to progress further. However, this approach also essentially removes the new left-front greenside bunker from play and provides an ideal angle from which to combat the green’s contours. Leftward players enjoy a direct line to the rear green, and a more reasonable shot to most hole locations once there. Adept players should note that, while flying it to the green from proximity is an option, playing to the left and attempting a run at the rear green or the left chipping area could also prove beneficial.
